Tour of Sufferlandria – final stages
Well, this should sum it up nicely:
It’s done. 13h 26m 25s on the bike, sweating a lot, 351 virtual kilometers spread over 9 days. In itself, it might not seem much, but the intensity of it and the fact that I had to figure out how to mix that with family life… In the end, it wasn’t as hard as I expected, but it was still much harder than the basic trainer exercise I did in the previous weeks. On the the final stages!
Stage 8: Blender
That one seemed rather innocuous. I’m much better with longer workouts, and this one was almost two hours. But the end was nasty. After a good number of sprints, when the energy is already low, 3 sequences at peak effort. Not fun. But nothing like…
Stage 9: Violator
That one ended up the toughest one. Was because after 9 days, the energy was running out? Maybe… But a total of 64 sprints of 5, 10 or 15s, grouped together with rest periods that would only get smaller as the workout progressed. I spent the last 5 minutes standing, sweting and eyeing the end of the workout. I was done!
Now on to see if I end up one of the lucky few with a prize. But it was a very good 9 days of working those legs, and a nice little badge on my profile as a memo of it 🙂
